Director of Nursing (DON) Skilled Nursing Facility
  • Mount Vernon, IL Area A well-established skilled nursing facility in the Mount Vernon, IL area is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong nurse leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality resident care, driving clinical excellence, and building a positive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership and direction for the nursing department in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including IDPH and CMS guidelines Oversee clinical operations, quality measures, infection control, and survey readiness Lead, mentor, and develop nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure exceptional resident outcomes Manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental budgets Drive performance improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of care
Qualifications:
Active Illinois RN license required Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility (DON or ADON experience preferred) Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey process Proven leadership, team-building, and communication skills Experience with EMR systems and quality reporting preferred
