Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team with, strategic insight, and a commitment to excellence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all clinical operations, ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, and foster a positive, compliant, and innovative healthcare environment. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement, staff development, and operational efficiency, aligning with organizational goals and regulatory standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary nursing professional eager to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant healthcare setting. Responsibilities Create and maintain the following: 24-Service Plan, Quarterly Plan. RAI, and TB Assist in meeting all Supportive Living requirements Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance nursing services, improve patient outcomes, and support organizational growth. Meet daily with Executive Director and weekly with our regional wellness team to discuss overall building wellness and any specific resident problems/wellness issues Lead, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff to cultivate a motivated, skilled, and compliant team dedicated to exceptional patient service. Oversee compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards to ensure safety and quality assurance. Foster a culture of leadership by promoting teamwork, open communication, and accountability across all levels of the nursing department. Participate in organizational planning and decision-making processes to align nursing operations with broader institutional objectives. Meet with residents on a scheduled or unscheduled basis to discuss residents' health concerns and health promotion Create and/or review Incident Reports (Executive Director must be made aware of any Incident Reports before filings Assist in initial interview process Staff supervisor Overall responsibility for all Wellness Staff including: Providing initial training of LPN and Wellness Coordinator and continuing education of Wellness Staff Responsible for the LPN schedule, taking call offs. And providing assistance on the floor in absence of nursing coverage. Oversight of C.N.A. schedule and monitoring of call offs in absence of LPN or Wellness Coordinator Demonstrated management capabilities including staff supervision, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution. Intake Upon intake, interview resident and complete 24-hour Assessment Review medications provided by resident, fax initial prescription list to pharmacy, then record in resident file
Management of Medications:
Oversee ordering, set-up and administration of resident's medication. Ensure that residents are receiving the proper amount of supervision or assistance, and make changes to the services they receive as needed. When a resident refuses needed services, ensure that she/he signs a Negotiated Risk Agreement. Make changes to service plan whenever a resident's regiment changes Train and supervise Licensed Practitioner Nurse in the proper procedures for med reminders, med pass and assistance. Check all pharmacy deliveries for completeness and accuracy; rectify discrepancies immediately. Process "stat" medication orders with all due diligence. Maintain records of deliveries. $84,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
