Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This pivotal role involves managing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of resident care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing administration, extensive experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health settings, and a passion for fostering a compassionate, efficient, and compliant care environment. As a leader in our organization, you will drive quality improvement initiatives, supervise clinical teams, and ensure that all documentation and care plans meet regulatory standards. Duties Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans to ensure personalized and effective treatment aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements. Supervise nursing staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to promote a motivated and competent team. Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), Medicare guidelines, and state-specific licensing requirements. Review medical records, documentation, and care documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to legal standards. Coordinate interdisciplinary team efforts to deliver comprehensive care across assisted living, nursing home environments, home health services, hospice care, and acute care settings. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently for documentation review, resident data management, and reporting purposes. Monitor shift management to optimize staffing levels while maintaining high-quality resident care; address any staffing or operational issues proactively. Ensure staff are trained in medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and proper documentation review techniques to support accurate clinical decision-making. Collaborate with administrative teams to manage budgets related to nursing services while ensuring compliance with Medicare reimbursement policies. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing quality metrics related to resident outcomes and implementing necessary enhancements. Qualifications Proven experience in nursing management within assisted living facilities or nursing homes; experience in home health or hospice care is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of nursing administration principles combined with practical expertise in supervising clinical teams. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review and medical records management. In-depth understanding of HIPAA regulations, Medicare policies, medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to resident care. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and residents' families. Shift management experience ensuring optimal staffing coverage across multiple shifts while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Ability to interpret complex medical records and ensure accurate documentation review for compliance purposes. Associate's degree in Nursing (ASN) or higher; current RN licensure required; additional certifications in healthcare management are a plus. $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
