The Nursing Director is responsible for overseeing resident care services, ensuring compliance with Indiana Assisted Living regulations, supervising nursing staff, and promoting a culture of quality care, dignity, and resident-centered service. This leadership position works closely with the Executive Director, residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional clinical outcomes and regulatory compliance while maintaining a supportive and positive environment for residents and staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Oversee all health and wellness services within the community. Assess, monitor, and coordinate resident care needs. Ensure residents receive appropriate services based on individual assessments and service plans. Participate in resident admissions, evaluations, and move-in assessments. Monitor resident health status and coordinate physician orders and follow-up care. Review incidents, accidents, and changes in condition and implement appropriate interventions. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with Indiana Residential Care Facility and Assisted Living regulations. Maintain clinical documentation and resident records in accordance with state and federal requirements. Prepare for and participate in state surveys and regulatory inspections. Develop, implement, and maintain nursing policies and procedures. Staff Management Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate nursing personnel and caregivers. Schedule and manage clinical staffing to ensure adequate coverage. Provide ongoing education, coaching, and performance management. Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development among staff. Medication Management Oversee medication administration systems and practices. Ensure compliance with medication management policies and physician orders. Monitor medication errors and implement corrective action plans when necessary. Resident and Family Relations Serve as a clinical resource for residents, families, and staff. Communicate effectively regarding resident care needs and changes in condition. Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally. Quality Assurance Monitor quality indicators and clinical outcomes. Conduct audits and performance improvement initiatives. Participate in risk management and infection prevention activities. Promote resident safety and satisfaction throughout the community. Qualifications Required Current, unrestricted Indiana Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience. Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory or management experience. Knowledge of Indiana Assisted Living/Residential Care Facility regulations. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, physicians, and team members. Preferred Previous Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, Senior Living, or Residential Care experience. Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems. Experience managing staffing, budgets, and clinical operations. Physical Requirements Ability to walk throughout the community and respond to resident needs. Ability to lift, transfer, or assist residents as necessary. Ability to perform duties requiring standing, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
