Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital leadership role, you will support the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations across various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, home health, and hospice care. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of exceptional resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and fostering a positive environment for both residents and staff. Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing in managing daily nursing operations, ensuring smooth shift transitions and optimal staffing levels. Supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct care providers, providing mentorship and performance evaluations to promote professional growth. Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, ensuring they meet regulatory standards and best practices. Ensure accurate documentation review and maintenance of medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate resident care, including assessments related to physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Manage EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for efficient data entry, retrieval, and reporting. Monitor shift management activities to ensure adequate coverage during all hours while maintaining high-quality resident care. Lead quality assurance initiatives related to MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and Medicare requirements to optimize reimbursement and compliance. Promote a culture of safety by adhering to HIPAA guidelines, ensuring proper documentation review, and supporting staff training on medical records management. Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, leadership development, and continuous improvement in nursing practices. Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies, or hospice care environments with a strong understanding of acute care settings. Demonstrated supervising experience with a focus on nurse management and nursing administration. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and medical records documentation processes. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and care planning procedures. Familiarity with Medicare regulations, HIPAA compliance standards, and documentation review protocols. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage shift operations effectively. Previous experience in managing MDS assessments and working within Medicare reimbursement frameworks is highly desirable. Exceptional communication skills coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced healthcare environments.
