POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles plays an important leadership role in supporting the daily operations of the nursing department while helping ensure the delivery of compassionate, high-quality patient care. Working closely with the Director of Nursing, the ADON provides support through staff scheduling, supervision, training, coaching, and performance management. In this role, the ADON assists with maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, supports nursing staff in daily clinical operations, and helps create a safe, organized, and therapeutic environment for both patients and employees. The ADON also collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote effective communication and continuity of care across the facility. The ideal candidate is a motivated and compassionate leader with strong clinical judgment, communication abilities, organizational skills, and a passion for behavioral healthcare and team development.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education:
Registered Nurse for at least 5 years with a minimum of 3 years of past working experience in clinical psychiatric/mental health nursing care, with MSN oversight.
License:
RN License through the Louisiana state board of nursing
Experience:
3 years of management in mental health nursing
