Amherst Job Summary:
The Center for Extended Care at Amherst, a family-owned and operated skilled nursing facility, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to lead our dedicated team of caregivers. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our nursing department, ensuring the highest standards of quality care and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for the nursing department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies. Foster a positive and supportive work environment that promotes professional growth and development among staff members. Collaborate with the Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction, and health. Recruit, train, and supervise a team of skilled nurses, including LPNs, RNs, and CNA's. Participate in the development of the Center's budget and ensure effective utilization of resources. Manage and coordinate the activities of the nursing department to ensure efficient and effective care delivery. Conduct regular rounds to assess patient care and identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident reports, and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement review.

Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Nursing. At least 2 years of experience in a senior leadership role. Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in mentoring and training staff. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. .Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
