Job Description
Preamble:

The administrator shall have overall responsibility for patient care, fiscal management, purchasing, quality assurance, admissions and discharges, community relations, physical plant, research and planning.Work Performed:
Develop and administer an organizational plan, to include necessary reporting systems and department head meetings. Interface with the medical staff regarding medical administrative matters and quality of care. Maintain organizational mission with goals and objectives. Director of Operation Responsibility and Authority:
Responsible for the selection of the Director of Nurses, all department heads and for final approval of all hiring's and firings. Responsible for the supervision and preparation of an annual budget and the ongoing analysis of financial statements and cost reports. Responsible for the development and maintenance of all consultant contracts. Awareness and implementation of all changes and modifications in the body of local, state, and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities Awareness of pertinent knowledge and research that might be applied to long-term care delivery to improve the life quality of residents Membership on the Utilization Review, Infection Control, and Pharmacy Committees and regular attendance at the Multidisciplinary meetings.Minimum Requirements:
Must be licensed or eligible for license as a nursing home administrator in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Must have good physical and mental health Must be responsible, motivated, and committed to providing high quality long-term care.Staff Development:
Attends and participates in Continuing Educational Programs designed to keep you advised of changes Demonstrate knowledge of the following: Fire and Disaster plan OSHA rules and regulations Safety management Infection control practices Resident Rights Abuse, neglect, mistreatment Bloodborne pathogen standard Aging process and related disorders Physical Requirements; Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner. Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times disagreeable people within the facility. May be required to lift residents, medical equipment, supplies, etc., throughout the workday. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.ACKNOWLEDGMENT
