Full Time Job Description Summary:
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Nursing Program. This includes ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives, maintaining program compliance with Middle States Standards, maintaining Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) approval, and maintaining full accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) for the Associate Degree in Nursing. This position supports the Nursing programs at the College and develops and implements Nursing-related projects from concept inception through execution and evaluation by engaging faculty and other internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Nursing works collegially with the Health, Wellness & Hospitality Dean to ensure student progression, retention, and program completion, and promotes innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a master's degree in nursing. Minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching experience in Nursing in an accredited institution of higher education. Active R.N. licensure or eligibility for active R.N. licensure in Maryland. Doctoral degree preferred Academic preparation and/or experience in administration. Previous administrative, supervisory, and/or leadership experience preferred.Job Requirements:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. Some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions maybe required. Occasionally the ability to physically move and lift materials 5-25 pounds may be required.OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work. A background investigation will be conducted prior to the offer of employment.
