Healthcare / Behavioral Health Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support nursing operations within an inpatient psychiatric setting. This leadership role partners closely with the Director of Nursing to ensure high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong psychiatric nursing experience, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to patient safety and compassionate care. Key Responsibilities Support daily nursing operations and assist with oversight of inpatient behavioral health services Collaborate with nursing leadership to improve patient care quality and service delivery Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling, and workforce planning Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and performance management of nursing staff Help develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and documentation standards Address patient care concerns and assist in resolving complaints or incidents Monitor nursing documentation and continuity of care practices Provide direct patient care support when needed Participate in committees, quality initiatives, and operational improvement projects Step into nursing leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing Qualifications Current RN license required Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Minimum 1 year of leadership or management experience required Prior inpatient psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience required Previous nursing leadership experience strongly preferred Experience in union hospital environments is highly preferred CPR certification required (training available upon hire) Preferred Experience Behavioral health, psychiatric, or addiction recovery environment experience Nursing leadership in inpatient psychiatric facilities Staff development and team supervision experience Benefits Competitive base salary Bonus eligibility Full benefits package Relocation assistance available Growth opportunities within a leading behavioral healthcare organization #INDPRO
