Job Description
To assist the Director of Nursing and supervise personnel activities of the Nursing Department. Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Michigan, three years of experience in supervision. Experience and/or education in Geriatric Nursing. Prompt and regular attendance is an essential job function. Assist in maintaining the standards of nursing practice, assist in developing and up-dating policies and procedures for nursing personnel. Assist the MDS Managers and Clinical Managers in development of individual resident care plans and charting that is in compliance with federal, state and local standards and regulations by ensuring assessments such as falls, pain, behavior/TD are accurate and follow up on appropriately. Perform duties of staff nurse, when required. Be on-call in absence of the Director of Nursing (be able to push med & treatment carts). Assist, identify and solve departmental and personnel problems. Assist in proper handling of emergency care of residents, personnel and visitors involved in accidents while on the job or in the facility. Promote public relations and be a liaison between Director of Nursing and staff and other departments. Responsible to ensure on-going education for all levels of nursing and support staff in accordance to OBRA laws, state and federal rules and regulations.
