Job Description

The Chief Nursing Officer will influence high-acuity service lines, champion infection prevention and antimicrobial stewardship, and guide strategic growth across new access points, all while stewarding clinician wellbeing through smart staffing investments, mental health resources, and streamlined, clinician-friendly EHR workflows that reduce clicks and boost bedside time. Within the Administration engine of the hospital, the Rehab CNO will coordinate nursing operations, policy, and performance improvement across Admin leadership councils and enterprise committees, ensuring the unit runs smoothly, remains close to city for convenient collaboration, and preserves a welcoming community feel that accelerates cross-department partnerships; in this Administration setting, the Chief Nursing Officer will shape strategic planning, align interdisciplinary teams, and translate data into measurable outcomes that elevate patient experience and care quality across every service line. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Nursing Officer partners closely with the COO, CMO, Quality and Safety leaders, and Finance to deliver a cohesive nursing strategy; as Chief Nursing Officer, responsibilities span nursing practice standards, regulatory readiness, accreditation, staffing models, clinical education, patient experience, and budget stewardship, supported by experienced directors, clinical educators, and informatics specialists; surrounded by friendly nurses, compassionate bedside teams, and a diverse network of physicians, APPs, pharmacy, PT/OT, case management, and social work, the Rehab CNO will guide shared governance, mentor leaders, foster Just Culture, and empower caregivers to practice at the top of license.
