Yes Position Summary Hayes Residence is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing Services (DON/RN) to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our long-term care facility. The DON is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. This leadership position oversees licensed and non-licensed nursing staff, supports staff development, manages clinical operations, and promotes a safe and supportive environment for residents and employees. ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure quality resident care and safety. Monitor resident outcomes and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding changes in care needs. Participate in care conferences and assist with resident-centered care planning. Assist with admissions, discharges, and coordination of resident services. Serve as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and healthcare providers. Staff Supervision & Scheduling Supervise and support all nursing personnel. Collaborate with Human Resources in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts. Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide coaching and guidance. Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules to meet resident care needs. Ensure required RN coverage is maintained. Provide on-call support for clinical and staffing concerns. Compliance & Quality Assurance Maintain compliance with all state and federal long-term care regulations. Assist during state and federal surveys and implement corrective action plans when needed. Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI/QAA) activities. Assist with MDS processes and care conference scheduling requirements. Support internal investigations and required reporting processes. Infection Prevention & Education Serve as the facility Infection Preventionist. Oversee infection prevention and control programs and antibiotic stewardship initiatives. Coordinate and support staff education and in-service training programs. Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures. Administrative Duties Manage nursing supply inventory and department budget needs. Participate in facility committees and safety initiatives. Support facility operations in the absence of the Administrator or Assistant Administrator. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota. Current CPR certification. Infection Prevention and Control certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire. Minimum 3 years of nursing experience preferred, ideally in long-term care, geriatrics, or mental health. Knowledge of state and federal regulations for long-term care facilities. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to effectively work with residents, families, staff, and healthcare professionals. Commitment to continuing education and professional development. Ability to meet attendance requirements and fulfill on-call responsibilities. Must pass required background checks and screenings.
