This is a vital leadership role responsible for clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, staff development, and fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence throughout the organization. About the Role The Director of Nursing provides leadership and direction for all nursing services within the facility, ensuring residents receive high-quality care in accordance with state and federal regulations, professional standards, and facility values. The DON works closely with the Administrator, department leaders, medical providers, residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to maintain strong clinical outcomes and a positive environment for both residents and employees. Key Responsibilities Lead and support nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, TMAs, and CNAs Ensure compliance with all CMS, DHS, and state/federal long-term care regulations Oversee resident assessments, care planning, clinical documentation, and quality initiatives Manage nursing staffing, scheduling oversight, recruitment, orientation, and employee development Support infection prevention, QAPI, clinical education, and survey readiness activities Monitor clinical systems, quality measures, and resident outcomes while implementing improvement strategies Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and respectful communication Collaborate with residents, families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to address concerns and improve resident experience Participate in leadership planning, policy implementation, and operational initiatives Ensure adherence to facility policies, procedures, and evidence-based nursing practices Qualifications Current Minnesota RN license required Minimum 2-3 years of nursing leadership experience in long-term care preferred Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, MDS/RAI process, and quality measures Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and staff development skills Strong communication, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities Ability to lead collaboratively in a fast-paced, resident-centered environment What We Offer Competitive salary Comprehensive benefits package Paid time off Supportive leadership team Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of residents and staff A mission-driven environment focused on compassion, teamwork, and quality care Join a team that values leadership, integrity, and person-centered care while making a difference every day.
