Job Description

Assesses and ensures the quality of the nursing care. Provides strategic leadership and management for all service delivery, ensuring alignment with best practices in psychiatric and behavioral healthcare. Participates in implementation and evaluation of client care plans. Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, medication management, and infection control. Supervises direct care staff in a daily manner (attends shift change meetings, provides for information flow to shift lead staff and medical staff, oversees annual employee review processes for these staff.) Assist in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and orientation of new staff. Conduct performance evaluations, mentorship, and professional development to ensure a high-functioning team. Ensures medical staff demonstrate competency before they are allowed to practice certain aspects of care. Ensures distribution of information regarding medications and health concerns of the clients. As needed Dispenses medications as scheduled, documents administration, monitors effects, and provides oversight and training to staff to ensure compliance with medication procedures. Obtains lab specimens as scheduled. Checks for needed monthly medication renewals. Provides on-going assessment for the wellness of each client. Ensure clients are taught about any needs they have related to allergies, hygiene, and health. Ensures that client health status is documented. Oversights and ensures the accuracy of medical files for each client. Member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Coordinates services with outside facilities and health care providers. Oversight of the scheduling of appointments with outside facilities and/or health care providers. Oversights the necessary follow up medical aftercare and contact with parents regarding medications and health concerns. Participates in the monthly infection control meeting. Ensures compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements including licensing and accreditation. Reports critical incidents to oversight agencies according to policy. Reports unusual incidents through appropriate Risk Management, clinical and safety channels. Develops, implements, and ensures compliance with Saint Francis Ministries policies and follows directives as required. Follows and adheres to all pertinent Saint Francis Ministries Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), rules, personnel policies, and procedures related accreditation. and licensure standards; and federal, state and local rules, statutes, regulations, and contractual terms. Is knowledgeable of and follows all safety procedures. Ensures clients' rights are protected. Coaches and develop teams to ensure they deliver against key program metrics. Works autonomously while ensuring the Executive Director's expectations are readily met and exceeded. Represents the organization with outside partners and stakeholders. Ensures compliance on an organizational, state, and federal level. Oversees staffing level management for programs. Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends as needed to meet the needs of the program. Required to be on-call.
Requirements:
MINIMUM EDUCATION & LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Prefer Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Requires a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the State of Mississippi. Prefer Registered Nurse licensed for the State of Mississippi. First Aid/CPR. Mandt.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
: Prefer 2 years' experience working with Adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities. Prefer supervisory experience. Must be 21 years of age. Must pass a physical examination, including drug screen and TB Skin Test. Must pass an MVR and Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Clearance check. FBI Fingerprint Check Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
