Job Description
LevelUp staff is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Director of Nursing Services to lead our nursing department with professionalism, compassion, and strategic oversight. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration within assisted living, nursing homes, or home health settings. This leadership role requires a comprehensive understanding of clinical operations, regulatory compliance—including HIPAA and Medicare standards—and a commitment to delivering exceptional resident care. As Director of Nursing Services, you will oversee all nursing functions, ensure quality standards are met, and foster a positive environment for both residents and staff. Duties Provide strategic leadership and supervision for nursing staff, including nurse management and shift management to ensure optimal resident care delivery. Develop, review, and implement care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Oversee documentation review and medical records management using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to maintain accuracy and confidentiality. Monitor clinical performance metrics such as MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments to support quality improvement initiatives. Ensure adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintain the privacy and security of all medical information in accordance with legal standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate hospice care, acute care, home health services, and other specialized programs. Lead staff training on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation procedures to uphold high standards of nursing practice. Manage compliance with Medicare requirements and other regulatory bodies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement in resident care. Requirements Proven management experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health agencies with supervising experience in a healthcare setting. Strong background in nursing administration with comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation review, medical records management, and care plan development. In-depth understanding of HIPAA regulations, Medicare guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards relevant to long-term care environments. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage shifts effectively, and oversee nurse management functions. Experience working with residents' care plans tailored to individual needs while ensuring quality outcomes. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare professionals, residents' families, and regulatory agencies.
