SCOPE OF POSITION
The Assistant Director of Long Term Care Services supports the Senior Director of Long Term Care Services in overseeing the management, operations, and clinical aspects of Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center and Ernest P. Barka Assisted Living Community. This role assists in ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and County policies, regulations, and standards while supporting high-quality, resident-centered care throughout the community.

The Assistant Director of Long Term Care Services plays a key leadership role in supporting this mission through operational oversight, quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and organizational collaboration. Working closely with the Senior Director, the Assistant Director helps oversee daily operations, supports the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and assists with strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, and community outreach efforts. This role promotes resident and family-centered improvement systems while supporting organizational goals, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement initiatives. The Assistant Director supports quality assurance, risk management, infection prevention, safety initiatives, and compliance programs throughout the community. Responsibilities include reviewing incidents and trends, coordinating staff education and training initiatives, supporting Quality Improvement/QAPI efforts, and helping maintain a safe and compliant environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role collaborates with department managers and organizational leadership to improve services, support staff development, strengthen workplace relationships, and promote effective communication throughout the organization. Additional responsibilities include conducting rounds in resident care areas, maintaining positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and community partners, supporting public awareness efforts, assisting with website and communication updates, and representing the organization within the community. The Assistant Director may assist with direct nursing care as needed, provide oversight to assigned departments, and perform the duties of the Senior Director during their absence. Must be able to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position and department, including weekends, holidays, on-call rotation coverage, and availability outside normal business hours during times of need. Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Quality Improvement, Risk Management, or other closely related field of study; Master's degree highly preferred. Five (5) years Long Term Care, acute care, and/or public health experience in a supervisory and/or managerial level. Two (2) years coordinating and/or leading quality improvement initiatives in a Long Term Care environment. An equivalent combination of education, work, and experience will be considered. LNHA Nursing Home Administrator License, or ability to obtain within eighteen months, is required. Equal Employment Opportunity Mandatory post offer physical and drug testing for new hire.
