Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team at our skilled nursing facility. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and resident-centered care. The ideal candidate is a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Sub-Acute Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care (LTC) . The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, clinical expertise, and the ability to mentor and develop nursing staff while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all nursing services. Oversee the daily clinical operations of the nursing department to ensure quality resident care. Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS guidelines and Department of Public Health requirements. Monitor resident care plans and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Participate in admission assessments, care planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Investigate incidents, accidents, resident concerns, and complaints, implementing corrective actions as needed. Assist with infection prevention and control initiatives, quality assurance, and performance improvement programs. Conduct clinical rounds to ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care. Support staffing operations, scheduling, and nursing coverage as needed. Assist with employee orientation, training, competency evaluations, coaching, and performance management. Mentor nursing staff to promote professional development and clinical excellence. Participate in state surveys and regulatory inspections, including preparation, response, and implementation of plans of correction. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, pharmacy consultants, social services, dietary services, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal resident outcomes. Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, respect, and resident satisfaction. Qualifications Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility. Previous leadership experience as a Charge Nurse, Unit Manager, Nurse Supervisor, or Assistant Director of Nursing preferred. Required experience in both Sub-Acute Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care. Thorough understanding of CMS regulations, state survey processes, infection control standards, and quality measures. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution abilities. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail. CPR/BLS certification required. Preferred Qualifications Wound care experience. Infection Preventionist experience or certification. Experience with Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI). MDS knowledge is a plus. Pay:
$110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
