Director of Nursing (DON)

Director of Nursing Home Care agency is seeking a Director of Nursing for our non-medical home care agency based in Township of Monroe, NJ. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and oversight of the nursing team. The Director of Nursing will work with the all staff to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications:

Current or former nursing or healthcare professional license in the state of Township of Monroe, NJ required. Current CPR certification required. At least two years of experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred. Strong knowledge of chronic care, acute care, and resident rights in a healthcare setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to do home assessments on clients Have reliable vehicle and driving license Good computer skills

Responsibilities:

The Director of Nursing will be responsible for: Monitoring all new and present clients, by conducting in person assesements and follow ups as required by State Law. Making care plans for aides to follow and following up ensuring that appropriate care plans are followed; ensuring that all clients rights are followed; ensuring that all appropriate clients rights are followed; coordinating discharge home is appropriate for client. A background in Senior care a plus, or having had experience in a facility a plus too. Not needed as training will be provided. This is a good opportunity for a nurse looking to stay in field of nursing but wanting to leave working in the hospital environment
