Assistant Director of Nursing 460 Hollywood Ave - Carneys Point, NJ 08069 Apply Overview Salary Range $67,000.00 - $100,000.00
Salary Position Type Full Time Apply Description Role:
Works collaboratively with the Assistant Dean of Nursing, faculty, staff, and campus partners to maintain a high-quality nursing program that prepares graduates for professional practice and licensure.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative Leadership Lead and coordinate curriculum development, revision, and evaluation to ensure alignment with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and current nursing practice. Support the preparation, submission, and maintenance of accreditation and regulatory documentation. Assist with program assessment, data collection, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Contribute to strategic planning for program growth, retention, and student success. Provide leadership during summer months with a focus on student success initiatives, retention planning, and preparation for the upcoming academic year. Collaborate with the Assistant Dean to support faculty onboarding, mentoring, and professional development. Participate in departmental scheduling, resource planning, and policy development. Teaching Responsibilities Teach 7.5 contact hours per Fall and Spring semester. Teach 1 contact hour during the summer session. Serve as the primary instructor for the Reentry Course, designed to prepare returning students for fall and spring coursework. Maintain high-impact teaching practices that support diverse learners and promote academic success. Provide academic advising, coaching, and support to nursing students. Student Success & Retention Develop, implement, and evaluate initiatives aimed at improving student retention, progression, and completion. Monitor student performance trends and collaborate with faculty to design targeted interventions. Support students returning from leave or academic interruption through structured reentry programming. Foster a supportive, inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and well-being
Qualifications Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Experience teaching at the college level required. Experience teaching at a community college preferred. Education Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution including add 'l courses in education. Unencumbered NJ RN license (or eligibility for licensure). Minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience. Experience in nursing education, including teaching in a pre-licensure program. Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes. Interpersonal Skills Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively with faculty, administrators, staff and external constituencies. Technical Skills Working knowledge of current and emerging computer hardware and software, including relevant ERP systems and all Microsoft Office products. Experience with ACEN or CCNE accreditation Other Skills Up-to-date professional competence demonstrated by ongoing clinical practice, continuing education, attendance at workshops and conferences or academic coursework. Physical Requirements The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Work Environment Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
