- Full-time Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our assisted living community's nursing operations.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of nursing practices within assisted living environments,. This leadership role requires a proactive approach to resident care, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance. The Director of Nursing will ensure the delivery of high-quality care aligned with best practices, regulatory standards such as HIPAA and the organization's mission to promote resident well-being and safety. Duties Oversee all nursing operations within the assisted living facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans for residents, utilizing knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to support optimal health outcomes. Supervise nursing staff, including nurse management and shift management, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team environment. Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to legal standards while maintaining strict confidentiality. Coordinate interdisciplinary care efforts involving hospice care providers, home health agencies, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive resident support. Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems and electronic medical records (EMR) systems for efficient documentation review and data management. Ensure proper medication administration, safety protocols, and infection control procedures are followed at all times. Lead quality assurance initiatives related to MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and compliance audits to optimize reimbursement under Medicare programs. Skills Extensive knowledge of assisted living operations combined with experience in nursing homes, hospice care, home health, and acute care settings. Must be a licensed RN in NJ Proven leadership skills with supervising experience in nursing administration and nurse management roles. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation review processes. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for managing medical records efficiently while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff members, residents' families, healthcare providers, and regulatory agencies. Ability to manage multiple shifts effectively while maintaining high standards of resident care and staff performance. Familiarity with the development of care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
