Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital leadership role, you will oversee wounds and weights as well as various nursing operations within our assisted living facility, ensuring the delivery of exceptional resident care. Your expertise will help foster a positive environment that promotes resident well-being, staff development, and compliance with healthcare regulations. You will serve as a key liaison between management, nursing staff, residents, and families, driving quality improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of nursing practice. Duties Manage wounds and weights Assist nursing leaders with managing daily nursing operations across multiple care units, ensuring smooth shift management and optimal staffing levels Supervise and support nursing staff, including nurse management and supervising experience, fostering a collaborative team environment Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with HIPAA regulations and Medicare requirements Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents, including those requiring hospice care or home health services Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery based on physiology and anatomy knowledge Monitor EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) to maintain accurate medical documentation and review clinical notes Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation review processes to uphold regulatory standards Lead staff training on medical terminology, documentation practices, and shift management protocols Ensure compliance with healthcare laws such as HIPAA while safeguarding residents' personal health information Support the administration of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments for residents requiring skilled nursing services Facilitate communication with external agencies like Medicare for billing and regulatory purposes Promote a culture of continuous improvement in nursing practices through leadership in quality assurance initiatives Qualifications Wound experience (certification preferred) Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home health environments with a strong background in nursing administration Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in nurse management roles Knowledge of acute care procedures, hospice care protocols, and Medicare regulations Familiarity with EMR systems, EHR systems, and medical records management software Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy relevant to resident care needs Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, residents, families, and external agencies Ability to review complex medical documentation accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance Management skills capable of overseeing shift operations efficiently while fostering team development Knowledge of care plan development tailored to individual resident needs across various healthcare settings Infection prevention and wound certified a major plus Join us as an Assistant Director of Nursing where your leadership fuels compassionate resident care!
