Health Dimensions Group SETTING Skilled Nursing
  • Long-Term Care The Northern Nevada State Veterans Home (NNSVH) is looking for an experienced, mission-driven Director of Nursing to lead clinical excellence for the men and women who served our country.
Operated by Health Dimensions Group under contract with the Nevada Department of Veterans Services, NNSVH is a beautiful, modern community where high-quality nursing care meets a population that has earned it. As DON, you'll lead the clinical operations of our community — building, coaching, and developing a dedicated team of RNs, LPNs and CNAs — and you'll do it with the backing of a national operator with deep clinical and operational expertise. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the next chapter of nursing leadership at NNSVH, reporting to the Executive Director and building the culture and the team from the ground up. 01 Why this opportunity
  • Mission you can feel. Every shift, every decision is in service of veterans and their families.
  • A facility to be proud of. NNSVH is a well-appointed, modern community designed for the care it delivers.
  • The HDG platform. Backed by a national leader in senior living and post-acute operations — clinical mentorship, operational resources, and a network of peers.
  • Northern Nevada lifestyle. Lake Tahoe, the Sierra Nevada, year-round sunshine, and no state income tax. Reno-Sparks is one of the most livable markets in the West.
  • Relocation support. Available for the right candidate. 02 What you'll do Reporting to the Executive Director, you will:
  • Oversee and direct all nursing and clinical services, ensuring quality care and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement care plans, policies, and procedures to meet resident needs and align with best practices.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and drive performance through data and quality metrics.
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new nursing staff.
  • Lead QAPI initiatives and follow up on audits, plans of correction, and incident investigations.
  • Maintain readiness for state and federal surveys, ensuring documentation, procedures, and staffing meet standards.
  • Partner with the Executive Director, medical directors, pharmacy consultants, and regulatory agencies on operations, compliance, and strategic planning.
  • Build strong relationships with residents and families and foster a culture of dignity, independence, and holistic care. 03 Requirements we're looking for
  • Active RN license in good standing — Nevada licensure required (or eligible to obtain).
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Nursing.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local long-term care regulations, survey processes, and QAPI initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage staffing, scheduling, training, and clinical compliance.
  • CPR certification and working knowledge of infection control best practices.
  • Participation in leadership on-call rotation required, which may include evenings and weekends.
  • Experience with Point Click Care preferred. 04 Compensation & benefits
  • $104,000 to $151,800 DOE
  • $5,000 Sign-On Bonus!
  • Annual Bonus Eligible
  • Relocation Assistance Available
