Director of Nursing Bethpage, NY Full-Time Salary:
$110K - $115K/yr Help People Achieve More. At Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE), we empower over 5,500 people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health challenges to thrive in their communities. FREE provides a diverse array of supports and services including: housing; recovery services; transition to work; employment; day, community and family services; respite; crisis services; education and after school support; specialty health services; and advocacy. The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring the delivery of the highest quality of health care to the individuals we support. Under the supervision of the Sr. Vice President of Nursing, the Director oversees all nursing practices and procedures related to an individual's plan of care in accordance with regulatory requirements and agency policy. The Director ensures that all nursing services in assigned residences/programs are carried out to meet the individual needs of the men and women we support, including providing such nursing services directly when needed. The Director supervises the Nursing Managers and Registered Nurses in assigned programs In addition, you will: Ensure delivery of high-quality, person-centered medical services in compliance with OPWDD, DOH, OMH, and applicable state and federal regulations. Direct nursing services across residential and program settings, allocating staffing resources based on individual and program needs while managing healthcare system changes and operational priorities. Coordinate responses to medical emergencies, communicable disease prevention, and incident reporting, ensuring timely communication, regulatory compliance, and protection of individual rights. Advocate for individuals served by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, families, providers, and stakeholders to address healthcare needs and promote positive outcomes. Analyze complex clinical and operational issues, evaluate risks, costs, and benefits, and implement etffective solutions to enhance service delivery and program performance.
We require:
Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred Current Registered Professional Nurse License Valid & Clean NYS Driver's License Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a nurse At least three (3) years of supervisory experience Computer literacy required; familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite Previous OPWDD nursing experience preferred Strong familiarity with federal, state & local regulations governing health care Must be efficient, well-organized, and have excellent communication & problem-solving skills Ability to work in a team environment with flexibility, keeping others informed and anticipating needs.
