Aventura at Carriage Inn is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to help lead our nursing team and support the delivery of exceptional care in our skilled nursing facility. Position Summary The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) partners with the Director of Nursing to oversee the daily operations of the Nursing Department. The ADON is responsible for supporting clinical excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, supervising nursing staff, and promoting high-quality resident care. This role is instrumental in maintaining a positive work environment while driving quality outcomes and operational success. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Department. Support the Director of Nursing in maintaining high standards of clinical care. Supervise, mentor, and support RNs, LPNs, and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Monitor resident care to ensure compliance with facility policies and best practices. Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges. Staff Leadership & Development Help recruit, interview, onboard, and retain nursing staff. Provide coaching, education, and performance feedback. Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development. Assist with staffing coordination and scheduling as needed. Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Participate in state surveys, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. Monitor documentation, infection prevention practices, medication administration, and resident safety. Assist in developing and implementing corrective action plans when necessary. Quality Improvement Monitor clinical outcomes and quality measures. Participate in performance improvement programs. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident care and satisfaction. Support initiatives that improve resident outcomes and operational efficiency. Resident & Family Relations Serve as a clinical resource for residents, families, and staff. Address resident and family concerns professionally and compassionately. Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary meetings. Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Licensure Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license required. LPN candidates will not be considered. Experience Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility or long-term care setting. At least 1-2 years of nursing leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Experience with CMS regulations and state survey processes is highly desirable. Skills Strong clinical assessment and leadership abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of long-term care regulations and quality standards. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
