This position involves managing nursing operations, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The Director of Nursing will work closely with other healthcare professionals to promote a collaborative environment that enhances patient outcomes. Duties Lead and manage the nursing department, ensuring effective staffing and scheduling. Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies and procedures in accordance with best practices. Oversee patient care activities to ensure compliance with medical standards and regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care services. Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation practices are followed. Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in acute care settings, home health, and home care environments. Conduct regular performance evaluations for nursing staff and provide opportunities for professional development. Stay updated on current medical terminology, practices, and innovations in nursing management. Skills Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development. Proficiency in acute care practices and nurse management techniques. In-depth knowledge of medical records management and medical terminology. Experience in home health or home care settings is preferred. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to analyze data related to patient care outcomes and implement improvements as needed. Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments is a plus. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to enhancing the quality of care provided by nursing staff while fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
