We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and support our continued growth and commitment to excellence. Job Summary The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees the clinical operations of our skilled and non-skilled home health agencies. This position is responsible for supervising clinical staff and home health aides, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting quality improvement initiatives, managing staff performance, and maintaining accurate documentation and clinical oversight. Key Responsibilities The order of responsibilities listed does not indicate their priority. Responsibilities may evolve as agency needs change. 1. Collaboration with Administrator and QAPI Director Partner directly with the Administrator (or designee) and QAPI Director. Implement and monitor QAPI initiatives aimed at improving patient care outcomes. Assist in developing strategies to enhance compliance and quality performance across agency clinical operations. 2. Compliance Monitoring Ensure agency adherence to all state, federal, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations. Review patient care documentation and operational procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and agency policies. Prepare the agency for regulatory surveys and accreditation reviews. 3. Field Support and Patient Care Perform direct field duties, including patient assessments, supervisory visits, and clinical evaluations when necessary. Collaborate with clinicians in the field to ensure timely and effective care delivery that meets patient needs and regulatory requirements. Travel within Ohio as needed to support agency operations. 4. Clinical Performance Improvement Analyze patient outcomes and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with staff to implement corrective actions and preventive measures in alignment with QAPI initiatives. 5. Staff Training and Support Provide ongoing training and education regarding compliance, quality, and performance improvement. Ensure staff remain current on regulations, clinical standards, and best practices. 6. Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate patient care and staff performance records required for regulatory compliance and internal audits. Prepare reports for the Administrator, QAPI Director, and other stakeholders as needed. 7. Regulatory Surveys and Agency Representation Participate in and support state, federal, accreditation, and other regulatory surveys. Be available to travel to agency locations during surveys or inspections when required. All travel expenses associated with regulatory surveys and agency-required travel will be covered by the agency. 8. Ongoing Professional Development Participate in continuing education to stay informed of healthcare regulations, quality initiatives, and industry best practices. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that improve patient care and operational efficiency. Qualifications Active Ohio RN License (Required) Previous Director of Nursing, Clinical Manager, or supervisory experience in home health care (Required) Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Proficiency with EMR systems and general computer/keyboard skills Knowledge of home health regulations, compliance standards, and reporting requirements Ability to travel within Ohio as needed Why Join Us?
