Job Description

York Manor is seeking an
EXPERIENCED
Assistant Director of Nursing for our small long term care facility in Muskogee, Oklahoma. We have a steady census and is currently full with 45 residents. We are a not-for-profit organization, and we are looking for a strong leader to oversee our nursing department. We are offering a sign on bonus $7500.00. Wage is commensurate with experience and will be discussed at time of interview with Shirley Breashears, our facility administrator. As Assistant Director of Nursing, your central goal will be to develop a collaborative and efficient workplace with specific attention to quality patient care. The ideal candidate for this position has proven experience in a nursing leadership role, outstanding organizational skills, and in-depth knowledge of healthcare industry policies. Scope of Responsibilities Responsible for helping all aspects of the nursing department (CNA's, CMA's, charge nurses, MDS Coordinator, and Infection preventionist). Implements nursing policies and procedures. Develops, implements, and evaluates programs to measure, assess, and improve the quality of nursing care. Ensures optimal quality of care is provided in a safe environment. Participates in facility surveys. Manages programs that promote the recruitment, retention, and continuing education. Responsible for nursing department scheduling, and ensures that adequate nursing staff is available. Sets goals and establishes priorities, then coordinates and manages the policies and resources needed to meet those goals. Helps to oversee nursing employee conduct. Is knowledgeable of incidents at the facility. Prepares incident reporting as required. Assesses the health needs of each resident. Communicating the needs of the residents to the physicians. Requirements Knowledge of professional nursing principals. Verbal, interpersonal and quantitative skills. Knowledge of state and federal LTC regulations. Prefers one to three years of healthcare management experience. Prefers previous DON experience in long-term care. Prefers previous experience with psych diagnoses residents Prefers knowledge of Point Click Care or other electronic healthcare records
