Personal Care Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing Services
  • LPN•Personal Care to join our team at William Penn Senior Suites in Jeannette, PA.
The Director of Nursing Services will be responsible for the overall implementation, delivery, and coordination of resident care services, ensuring exceptional standards of care and maintaining a safe and compassionate environment for our residents.
Responsibilities:
Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required Perform daily rounds to ensure that nursing services personnel are providing care in accordance with acceptable nursing standards Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel and other departments within the facility Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift Conduct Quality Assurance reviews to ensure the department is meeting state regulations and company policies Build and maintain productive relationships with community staff, residents, their families, and local community Ensure that all personnel are following established safety regulations and providing care in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner Develop, implement, and maintain established nursing objectives and standards Consult with physicians and healthcare professionals to provide quality care to our residents Monitor resident care and report any concerns or issues to the Nurse Supervisor Assist in arranging transportation for discharged residents Ensure that residents are escorted to pick-up areas Inform family members of the death of a resident and facilitate the funeral home process
Requirements:
Current PA State Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Experience in direct patient care, assessments/observation of clinical conditions, and recruiting, training, and managing staff Experience at a department head level in Personal Care or a related field Demonstrated leadership with supervisory skills At least 3 years' experience in long-term care/geriatrics Excellent communication, organizational, and observation skills Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively CPR certified and knowledge of basic first aid Ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information Valid driver's license
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must be a supportive team member and contribute to and be an example of teamwork and the team concept Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public Must be able to follow written and oral instructions Must not pose a threat to the health or safety of their individuals in the workplace Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with others Must be willing to perform tasks that may involve exposure to the blood and/or body fluids Must be willing to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
