Job Description

Full-time (EXEMPT) Participates in staffing on-call and as Manager-on-Duty Current Pennsylvania license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Five (5) years of experience as an RN Charge Nurse/Supervisor or previous DON experience, preferably in a CCRC. Basic computer skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook. Maintains current, in‑person, American Heart Association-approved hands‑on BLS certification. Develops written policies, procedures, and standards, with particular attention to quality‑of‑life and quality‑of‑care issues. Clearly communicates these policies and standards to all nursing staff and ensures follow‑through using appropriate accountability measures. Performs key management functions, including interviewing prospective employees; monitoring the performance appraisal process; resolving staff concerns in consultation with the Director of HR; addressing morale issues; monitoring Trillium Place staffing needs; addressing turnover concerns; conducting monthly RN, LPN, and CNA meetings; ensuring appropriate RN supervision; maintaining high visibility; providing budget input with attention to cost‑containment; and maintaining all required departmental documentation. Addresses significant family concerns, issues, or problems in consultation with the Nursing Home Administrator (NHA). Strategically plans, prioritizes, organizes, implements, and delegates responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring attention to both quality of care and quality of life. Establishes antibiotic stewardship standards to ensure antibiotics are prescribed only when appropriate. Coordinates with the Antibiotic Stewardship Task Force, Infection Prevention, and physicians regarding policies and procedures related to antibiotic use.
