Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our nursing team and ensure the delivery of exceptional care to our clients. This pivotal role involves overseeing nursing operations, managing interdisciplinary teams, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient-centered care, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and have experience in home health environments. As a key member of our leadership team, you will drive quality improvement initiatives, foster a collaborative work environment, and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice. Duties Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all nursing services tailored to each client's needs. Develop, implement, and regularly review comprehensive care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Supervise nursing staff providing mentorship and performance evaluations to promote professional growth. Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations including HIPAA privacy standards, Medicaid requirements, and local licensing laws. Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and review documentation for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to policies. Monitor clinical documentation to support billing accuracy and quality metrics. Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing documentation, analyzing clinical outcomes, and implementing improvement strategies. Collaborate with medical professionals to coordinate care. Promote a culture of safety by conducting regular safety audits, staff training on infection control protocols, including HIPAA compliance and medical terminology standards. Manage relationships with regulatory agencies during inspections or audits to ensure ongoing compliance. Facilitate ongoing staff education on topics such as anatomy knowledge, physiology updates, care plans development, and documentation review procedures. Support the integration of EMR systems to streamline workflows while maintaining data security standards. Requirements Proven experience in nursing management within home health settings. Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a healthcare environment; previous management roles preferred. Strong knowledge of nursing administration principles combined with expertise in nurse management practices. Extensive understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts relevant to resident care. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation management; ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms. In-depth knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of medical records and documentation review processes. Experience managing care plans tailored to diverse client needs while adhering to Medicaid guidelines. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and engaging clients' families effectively.
