Job Description

Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm Responsibilities The Director of Nursing (DON) provides strategic leadership, direction, and oversight of the Nursing Department across multiple facilities. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and evidence-based practices. The DON fosters a culture of clinical excellence, professional growth, accountability, and collaboration within the nursing team and across interdisciplinary partners. Provides overall direction, supervision, and evaluation of nursing services at all assigned locations. Collaborates on the development, implements, and monitors nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure safe, consistent, and highquality care. Ensures delegation and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies. Partners with executive leadership to establish strategic goals, operational priorities, and budgets for nursing services. Oversees staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain safe and effective care delivery. Establishes and monitors performance metrics for nursing care delivery, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives. Ensures adherence to evidencebased standards of care in rehabilitation and complex medical management. Collaborates with Medical Directors, Clinical Management, and Residential Management to support coordinated, transdisciplinary care. Promotes clinical prevention practices and policies to include medication safety, and best practices in clinical documentation. Partners with leadership on clinical projects, as needed. Fosters open communication and collaboration with persons inside and outside the organization, obtains information, thinks creatively, organizes, plans and prioritizes work, establishes and maintains interpersonal relationships, makes decisions and problem-solves, and keeps up to date technically. Reviews current literature and industry trends to identify opportunities for new educational programs and initiatives. Analyzes and updates existing educational materials to ensure alignment with best practices and current standards. Gathers and integrates relevant course materials and topics offered within the industry to strengthen nursing education.
Experience and Education Educational Background :
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California and Texas (or eligibility for licensure in both states). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Work Experience :
Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience and experience in post-acute rehabilitation . Strong knowledge of nursing practice standards, rehabilitation care, and regulatory compliance.
