Job Description

Director of Nursing (RN) - Skilled Nursing Facility Olney Rehabilitation and Care Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and inspire our clinical team. We're looking for a compassionate, hands-on leader who is passionate about resident care, teamwork, and operational excellence. As the Director of Nursing, you will oversee all aspects of the nursing department—ensuring quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a positive, collaborative work environment. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and direction for all nursing staff to deliver exceptional resident-centered care. Oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance management for the nursing team. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices that ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaborate closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to promote efficient operations and effective communication. Monitor quality metrics, address deficiencies, and implement performance improvement initiatives. Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges in collaboration with clinical and administrative staff. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to all reporting and record-keeping requirements. Foster a supportive, team-oriented environment that encourages growth and professional development. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas (required). Proven experience as a Director of Nursing in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred. Current CPR certification required. In-depth knowledge of state/federal regulations, infection control, and quality assurance standards. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
