Job Description

Lead with purpose and heart as the Chief Nursing Officer at a hospital that blends an authentic community feel with the promise of impactful rural healthcare: an exciting, fun, and career-elevating opportunity!

This Chief Nursing Officer role places nursing leadership at the center of a mission-driven, patient-first culture grounded in measurable outcomes, clinical excellence, and safety; the hospital supports the CNO with optimized EHR workflows, real-time quality dashboards, advanced imaging, telehealth and virtual nursing capabilities, and innovation-minded leadership that pilots new care models to elevate experience, reduce HAIs, and strengthen value-based care performance.

As the CNO, partnership thrives inside an agile Administration environment, the executive, administrative, and operational nerve center, where streamlined processes, clear governance, and accessible decision support empower rapid action; this administrative team is intentionally built around a welcoming community feel and a close-knit rural spirit that values relationships, accountability, and visible, hands-on leadership from the Chief Nursing Officer.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Nursing Officer collaborates closely with the COO, CMO, finance leaders, and service-line heads while leading nursing directors, managers, clinical educators, quality and safety leaders, and infection prevention; the CNO receives strong support in workforce planning, analytics, and project management, and is entrusted with responsibilities spanning strategy, staffing, patient experience, nursing professional practice, accreditation readiness, budget stewardship, policy and pathway optimization, and continuous improvement alongside friendly nurses and a diverse, interprofessional team that includes physicians, APPs, pharmacy, therapy services, case management, and social work.

Located in the Texas Panhandle, this CNO opportunity comes with a lifestyle advantage: wide-open skies and Palo Duro Canyon adventures, quick commutes, four-season sunshine, and a cost of living that stretches a Chief Nursing Officer salary farther; enjoy BBQ, Tex-Mex, and locally roasted coffee, vibrant arts and murals, concerts and festivals, family-friendly neighborhoods, higher education options like regional universities and community colleges, convenient air travel connections, entrepreneurial energy, modern broadband, and a practical, neighborly culture, plus housing choices from spacious lots to low-maintenance lofts, strong K-12 options, parks and trails, active fitness communities, dependable healthcare access, and the privacy and tranquility that only the Panhandle's big-sky beauty can deliver.
