Serve as the lead clinical and administrative professional for the entire procedural/surgical department, while offering a continuum of comprehensive surgical care, spanning from preoperative planning, surgical assistance, ensuring sterile conditions, and managing post-anesthesia recovery.Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting the physicians with patient care through the entire course of the patient's experience. Responsible for maintaining an efficient patient workflow and a safe and effective patient care environment, including assuring all staff and visitors' adherence to facility policies and procedures. Responsible for implementing and maintaining continuous process improvement activities, including, but not limited to, Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement projects,Infection Control and Prevention, and Sterile Processing, Education, Experience, and Licensure :
Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current state nursing license in good standing. Minimum of five years nursing experience in hospital, ASC, or similar settings. Minimum of one year of leadership experience in a clinical setting Successful completion and certification in ACLS.Primary Position Responsibilities :
While the surgery center ramps up to and expands services to additional physicians and service lines, it is expected that this position will be able to interchangeably: Perform all duties as the pre-op, circulating/sedation, and PACU/recovery as needed Perform all duties as the circulating nurse as needed Perform all duties as the surgical technologist as needed Perform all duties of the sterile processing tech as needed Perform all duties of the supplies/inventory manager as needed Perform all duties of the infection control nurse and quality improvement nurse as needed Hire and train full time and/or part time staff for any of the above functions and duties and delegate accordingly Other typical ongoing duties include, but are not limited to: Educating patients on pre-operative instructions and procedural expectations prior to procedures Planning the OR schedule including staff and patient arrival times Overseeing pre-operative and post-operative care by ensuring adherence to best nursing practices by temporary, part time, or full time nursing staff Coordinate care with patients' complete care team as needed, including patients' primary care physicians, specialists, home health agencies, pharmacies, etc. Directing facility personnel to complete additional supporting activities, such as facilities maintenance activities, supply inventory management, ongoing training, etc. Ensuring completion of all patient care documentation as needed Planning for supply and equipment requirements for service line expansion Participating in recruitment of new physicians to the surgery center Overseeing medical staff and facility staff credentialing, training, and drill requirements Other duties as assignedHours:
Standard facility hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm on days when procedures/surgery are scheduled, and 8:00am to 5:00pm on days when procedures/surgery are not scheduled. Flexible shift scheduling shall be negotiated between employee and employer on an ongoing, as-needed basisBase Salary:
This position will have a starting base salary of $40.00-50.00 per hour and subject to deductions for taxes and other withholdings as required by law.Bonus Structure:
This position will have a designated and agreed-upon annual bonus structure. The structure may change on an annual basis as agreed upon by both parties.Sample Bonus Metrics:

Detailed Job Duties, Continued:
Administration, Communication, and Teamwork :
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with State and Federal Regulations, as well as compliance with American Association of Ambulatory Health Care Compliance Consult, collaborate, and communicate with healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care. Review and prepare charts for completeness. Supervise licensed vocational nurses in line with the Board of Nursing scope. Maintain accurate records, including controlled substances. Adhere to all facility policies, OSHA regulations, and uphold HIPAA guidelines. Demonstrate competence in using Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint) for the design and implementation of policies, procedures, guidelines, training aids, checklists, etc.Preoperative Care :
Assess, plan, and implement patient care, ensuring procedure team readiness for surgical procedures and clinically preparing patients for procedures Educate patients about pre•and post-operative procedures and care. Coordinate and communicate with the patients' healthcare team. Demonstrate mastery of all routine nursing skills typically performed by preoperative nursesSurgical/Sedation Assistance :
Prepare the operating room for surgery and ensure readiness for potential emergencies. Assist surgical teams, handling and selecting instruments. Assist in the prepping and draping of patients immediately prior to the procedure Demonstrate mastery of all routine nursing skills typically performed by circulating nurses and moderate sedation nursesPost-Anesthesia Care :
Monitor patient's vital signs and ensure stabilization post-anesthesia. Address any adverse reactions or complications. Provide bedside care and ensure the well-being of the patient. Review dressings, drains, tubes, and catheters. Administer medications as prescribed, recording and reporting any reactions. Initiate patient education about post-treatment home care, self-administration of medications, and rehabilitation. Manage patient discharge based on physician or anesthesiologist orders. Demonstrate mastery of all routine nursing skills typically performed by PACU nursesPhysical Requirements :
Good visual acuity and accurate color vision. Ability to transfer patients with assistance, potentially exceeding 100 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods and demonstrate fine motor skills.Working Conditions :
