Full-time | Salaried | Exempt Job Summary The Director of Nursing leads a team of dedicated RN's, LPN's and Medication Aides in a residential substance use disorder treatment setting. Key Responsibilities Participate in planning, priority setting, and the development/implementation of policies and procedures for health care activities that comply with facility and contractual requirements as well as State, DEA, and CARF standards. Coordinate and monitor orientation, in-service training, and continuing education with the nursing team. Coordinate the development, provision, and evaluation of patient care according to the standards of nursing practice in the state of Virginia. Conduct recruitment/retention efforts for nursing service. Prepare/submit reports as requested. On-going chart reviews to ensure compliance with Federal/State/regulatory requirements. Provide training, consultation and direction in dealing with difficult clients. Participation/leadership in treatment team meetings as well as grievance and appeals meeting. Participate in ongoing training per program/State/Federal requirements. Provide assistance in ongoing in-house training requirements. Manage the finances of the department, prepare and monitor budgets and spending to ensure department operates within allocated funds. Order supplies as needed for the department. Ensure adequate staffing and complete monthly staff schedule. Perform other functions related to the position as required. Minimum Qualifications Education / Credentials Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing. Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Virginia. Experience 2+ years of supervisory experience in an inpatient/residential substance use disorder treatment setting preferred.

Knowledge / Skills

Supervisory skills required. Leadership skills in decision making and problem solving. Knowledge of CARF accreditation requirements. Knowledge of all aspects of holistic addiction treatment clinical care requirements. Ability to develop and implement holistic clinical program for patients with substance use disorder. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
