Assistant Director of Nursing

Assistant Director of Nursing Skyline Terrace Nursing Home, located in Woodstock, VA, has a career opportunity for an Assistant Director of Nursing. This facility provides loving care to the residents that reside in this 70 bed facility. The facility is seeking a compassionate, quality focused, team / family oriented, leader to assist in the management of the nursing department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the nursing department in maintaining standards of resident care through the administration and evaluation of the nursing programs. Some of these responsibilities include. Serve in a leadership role, promoting facility growth and positive employee relationships. Act as a laison between residents, families, physician and resident care teams. Medical Record Management. Facilitate Physician visits. Participate in direct care duties as a nurse or caregiver as necessary. Ensure resident care is delivered to residents in accordance with quality standards and according to policy and procedures. Maintain schedule for routine and non-routine labs. Ensure labs are obtained, communicated to the provider, and documented within the medical record. Participate in antipsychotic dose reductions per state and federal guidelines. Serve as the facility infection control nurse. Provide PPD's per facility policy Administer pneumonia and flu vaccines. Attend and participate in scheduled meetings. Effectively communicate needs and opportunities for improvement to the Director of Nursing and Administrator. On-call responsibilities. This position is Monday - Friday with on-call and leadership responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. Assume responsibilities of the Director of Nursing in their absence.

Qualifications:

Must have a current Virginia RN license. Must have previous administrative and management experience in LTC. Customer focused. Must be a creative, independent thinker and possess sound judgment skills. Ability to effectively manage a nursing staff and maintain positive employee relations. Must maintain a professional attitude Must be knowledgeable in the care needs of residents in Long Term Care settings. Must be able to effectively communicate with residents, providers, family members, and employees.
