Who you are:
RN currently licensed in the State. Current CPR certification. Geriatric/rehabilitation and Supervisory experience with a good understanding of restorative nursing.
General Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall management and operation of the assisted living facility. This role includes overseeing resident care, managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a safe and supportive environment for residents. The Assistant Director of Nursing will work closely with residents, families, and staff to consistently meet high standards of care to improve their quality of life.
Essential Job Duties:
Supervises direct nursing care for the entire Health Center Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated Makes routine rounds to ensure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment. Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records. Assists with admission of new residents. Does preadmission screenings. Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS< resident care plans and conference in the absence of the MDS nurse. Supervises all personnel in the Health Center. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of all staff. Assists with orientation of all staff in the Health Center Participates in family/resident counseling Responds to emergency calls as necessary. Functions in the capacity of DON in their absence. Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care. Some "on call" is required
Other Duties:
Assures timeliness of physician visits. Accompany physicians when making rounds Notifies physicians and family of changes in residents' condition. Encourages rehabilitative techniques to restore residents' independence. Assures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies. Assists DON in developing and implementing policies and procedures Assists in infection control, safety and pharmacy rounds and audits. Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, squatting; must be able to stand/walk for up to 70% of the workday; must be able to lift, transfer, turn and position residents weighing up to 125 lbs. unassisted, or with the assistance of one for a resident weight over 125 lbs. May be subjected to offensive odors and combative behavior. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 50lbs. occasionally. May be exposed to communicable diseases including the HIV and HBV viruses. Must be able to work paying close attention to detail with frequent interruptions
