Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing Services to lead and oversee all nursing operations within our healthcare facility. This pivotal role involves managing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and delivering exceptional resident care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in assisted living, nursing home experience, and a comprehensive understanding of medical records, documentation review, and care planning. As a leader in nursing administration, you will foster a culture of excellence, safety, and compassion while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and Medicare standards. Your expertise in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and nursing management will drive operational efficiency and elevate the quality of care provided. Duties Lead, supervise, and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality resident care aligned with best practices in assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings. Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as Medicare and HIPAA. Oversee the management of medical records and documentation review processes using EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate shift management to ensure adequate staffing levels while optimizing patient outcomes through effective nurse management strategies. Ensure all nursing activities adhere to medical terminology standards, physiology knowledge, anatomy principles, and nursing protocols for optimal resident health outcomes. Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update resident care plans that reflect current health status and treatment goals. Maintain oversight of MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments to support accurate billing practices under Medicare guidelines. Promote a culture of leadership within the nursing team by supervising staff performance evaluations and fostering professional development opportunities. Ensure all nursing operations comply with HIPAA privacy rules while maintaining efficient documentation workflows within EMR/EHR systems. Qualifications Proven experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with demonstrated expertise in nurse management and supervising teams. Strong background in home health or hospice care environments is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of acute care practices, physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and resident's (personalized resident information). Familiarity with Medicare regulations, MDS assessments, medical records management, documentation review processes, and HIPAA compliance. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic medical records efficiently. Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of supervising nursing staff effectively while fostering a positive team environment. Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and ensure seamless shift management. Ability to interpret complex medical data accurately to inform care decisions and improve resident outcomes.
