LTCC JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Nursing (DON) provides leadership, oversight, and coordination of nursing services and administrative operations within the Long Term Care Center at Cody Regional Health. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, resident-centered care that aligns with the organization's mission, values, and commitment to serving the community. The DON directs daily clinical operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as organizational policies and standards. This position oversees nursing staff performance, staffing levels, and competency, while promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous quality improvement. Working closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team, the DON supports operational and financial performance by managing departmental resources, monitoring outcomes, and identifying opportunities to improve care, efficiency, and resident satisfaction. The DON plays a key role in staff development through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance evaluation, and addresses employee relations issues in collaboration with Human Resources and leadership. As a leader within the organization, the DON fosters strong communication, supports a positive work environment, and serves as an advocate for residents, families, and staff. This position is essential in ensuring that the Long Term Care Center provides compassionate, high-quality care to the individuals and families of the Big Horn Basin.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred, with additional education in geriatrics or gerontology.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of two years' supervision or management experience and at least five years' clinical experience. Previous experience in administration, rehabilitation nursing, psychiatric or geriatric nursing required. SKILLS Must possess a high degree of confidentiality in all matters with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Must have excellent leadership skills and supervisory skills. Excellent clinical and teaching skills required. Must have an interest in and understanding of the special needs of the older adult. Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff and public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner. Must have well-developed written and oral communication skills to interpret written instructions, and to communicate and document effectively. Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles. Able to apply nursing process in problem solving. Able to prioritize appropriately and make sound nursing judgments. Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people. Effective computer and keyboarding skills. Must have ability to learn and use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook. Ability to learn new computer software applications.

Pay:

$47.00 - $70.00 per hour
