Director of Rehabilitation 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars Greenwood Village, CO 80121 From $52 an hour - Full-time Orchard Park Healthcare 10 reviews From $52 an hour - Full-time Director of Rehabilitation Position Overview Responsible for directing and developing the Rehabilitation Services department to ensure the delivery of high quality rehabilitation care and services in accordance with all laws, regulations and facility guidelines.
Basic Qualifications Education & Certification:
Graduate of an accredited PT, OT or Speech Therapy program (BS or MS degree); current licensed PT, OT or SLP within the state of operation; must be certified through the national association for specific discipline.
Experience:
Minimum of two-three years rehabilitation experience within a long-term care setting; experience in a rehab management role required. Essential Job Duties Directs and develops the rehab department to ensure the delivery of high quality care and services in accordance with all laws, regulations and facility guidelines. Recruits, selects and orients qualified team members for the Rehabilitation Services Department. Provides expectations and monitors performance of the Rehab department staff. Responsible for overall supervision of the Rehab department and providing guidance to both management and non-management rehab team in accordance with budgetary obligations. Schedules, attends and actively participates in care plan meetings as required by the facility guidelines. Coordinates, schedules and actively participates in resident care conferences. Provides verbal and written reports to the Administrator and makes care recommendations. Assesses rehab treatment needs and accepts recommendations from the Rehab disciplinary team regarding the rehab department's ability to meeting those needs and implements change as needed. Assesses newly admitted residents and compares physician orders to care plans. Monitors progress notes to ensure information recorded is timely, accurate and descriptive. Monitors treatments provided by the rehab department to ensure therapy needs have been met as outlined on the care plans. Investigates grievances or complaints regarding the rehab department in a timely manner to determine the best resolution and forwards to the Administrator. Monitors licenses and certifications for rehab team to ensure all are valid and current. Ensures guideline and procedure adherence and monitors absenteeism; meets with team members as needed to perform necessary corrective action steps. Provides information for denials and other intermediary requests for documentation. Identifies opportunities for rehab services as it relates to outpatient therapy and ensures delivery. Ensures timely completion of MDS coding and care plan objectives by reviewing necessary reports. Creates and monitors the Quality Assurance program, reviews reports and makes recommendations to the QA improvement team. Ensures appropriate staffing of PT, OT, SLP and RT disciplines in accordance with local and state guidelines.
