We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to lead our Respiratory Therapy Department and Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) Laboratory. Position Summary The Director of Respiratory Therapy (RRT) provides administrative leadership, strategic direction, and clinical oversight for the Respiratory Therapy Department and ABG Laboratory. This role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency in alignment with Methodist Rehabilitation's mission. This position works closely with hospital leadership and the Medical Director and has full responsibility and authority for respiratory therapy and ABG services.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and oversee daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department and ABG Laboratory Provide clinical leadership as an RRT and ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards Develop, implement, and maintain departmental and laboratory policies and procedures Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, CAP, CARF, and other regulatory agencies Lead ABG Laboratory accreditation efforts and monitor quality and performance indicators Manage departmental budget, including capital planning and resource allocation Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans Oversee quality management (QM) and infection control programs Supervise diagnostic testing Performs patient care Ensure proper maintenance and compliance of all respiratory and lab equipment

Shift:

Must be able to take call, flex schedule and be availbable for irregular hours as needed Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy, Healthcare Administration, Management, or related field (or qualifying equivalent for CLIA moderate complexity laboratory technical consultant) Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist Minimum of 2 years of leadership or management experience Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in non-waived testing preferred

Certifications & Licensure:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
