01.7511 SMCPHYSICAL THERAPY
Pay Range:
$41.12 - $67.85 Care for our community, and your career. The Therapy Manager oversees the daily operations, clinical quality, staffing, and performance of rehabilitation therapy services. This role provides leadership to therapy staff while ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, productivity standards, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Therapy Manager supports organizational goals through operational efficiency, staff development, and patient satisfaction initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Supervise and support therapy staff including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, therapy assistants, and rehab aides. Ensure delivery of safe, effective, evidence-based therapy services. Monitor patient outcomes and quality indicators. Assist with complex patient care issues and clinical problem-solving. Promote interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, nursing, case management, and administration. Operations Management Manage daily therapy department operations and staffing schedules. Monitor productivity, staffing ratios, and department performance metrics. Ensure appropriate patient scheduling and caseload distribution. Oversee documentation compliance and timely completion of records. Participate in budget preparation and expense management. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and accreditation standards. Maintain readiness for surveys and audits. Implement departmental policies and procedures. Monitor adherence to HIPAA and workplace safety requirements. Staff Development Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate therapy personnel. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions. Support continuing education and professional development. Foster employee engagement and retention initiatives. Quality Improvement Lead quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives. Analyze departmental data and identify operational improvements. Participate in strategic planning and service line growth. Qualifications Education Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, or related rehabilitation field. Licensure/Certification Current state licensure in applicable therapy discipline required. CPR certification required. Experience 3-5 years of clinical therapy experience preferred. Prior supervisory or management experience preferred. Experience with rehabilitation regulations, documentation standards, and productivity management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of rehabilitation practices and healthcare regulations. Ability to analyze operational and financial data. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Work Environment Healthcare setting including hospital, outpatient clinic, skilled nursing facility, or rehabilitation center. Requires periods of standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting.
