Woodbury Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center seeks an experienced Director of Respiratory Services to lead respiratory care operations in our skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care facility. Key Responsibilities Direct and oversee all respiratory care services throughout the facility. Develop, implement, and monitor respiratory care policies, procedures, and clinical protocols. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and New York State Department of Health regulations. Supervise, mentor, schedule, and evaluate respiratory therapy staff. Participate in resident assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings. Monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of respiratory services and implement quality improvement initiatives. Ensure proper maintenance, inspection, and utilization of respiratory equipment and supplies. Coordinate respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, ventilator care, tracheostomy care, and pulmonary rehabilitation services as appropriate. Provide education and training to respiratory and nursing staff regarding respiratory care best practices. Maintain accurate documentation and ensure adherence to facility policies and standards. Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, infection prevention, rehabilitation services, and other departments to ensure exceptional resident care. Participate in survey preparation, regulatory inspections, and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities. Serve as a clinical resource and advocate for respiratory care excellence throughout the organization.
QualificationsRequired:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of respiratory care experience. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience. Experience in a skilled nursing facility, subacute rehabilitation, or long-term care setting preferred. Strong knowledge of respiratory care regulations, infection control practices, and quality assurance processes. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
