Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Monitor (Telemetry/Cardiac/EKG) Tech to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in cardiovascular monitoring, physiology, and medical terminology, with a passion for providing exceptional patient care. As a vital member of the clinical staff, you will be responsible for continuous cardiac monitoring, data collection, and supporting diagnostic evaluations in a fast-paced medical environment. Your expertise will contribute significantly to patient safety and the effective functioning of our telemetry and cath lab units. Duties Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment, ensuring accurate detection of arrhythmias and other cardiac events. Assist with interventional radiology procedures and cardiac catheterizations by providing real-time data and support. Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, and other physiological parameters. Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Support diagnostic evaluations by preparing patients, operating sonography equipment when necessary, and documenting findings meticulously. Collaborate with interventional cardiology teams to facilitate smooth procedures within the cath lab environment. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including anatomy knowledge and emergency response procedures in Level I Trauma Center settings. Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and diagnostic evaluation techniques to support clinical decision-making. Qualifications Prior experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center or emergency medicine setting is highly preferred. Strong understanding of telemetry monitoring systems, cardiac physiology, and anatomy. Knowledge of interventional radiology procedures, cardiac catheterization techniques, and sonography is advantageous. Familiarity with aseptic technique, vital signs measurement, and emergency response protocols. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to recognize abnormal cardiac rhythms promptly. Basic proficiency in interpreting diagnostic data related to cardiology and physiology. Certification as a telemetry or EKG technician is required; additional credentials in interventional cardiology or radiology are a plus. $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
