Position Overview The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II performs advanced neurodiagnostic procedures and plays a key role in daily laboratory operations. This position emphasizes high-quality patient care and adherence to established technical and clinical standards. Working under the supervision of a board-certified neurologist, the technologist is responsible for conducting, monitoring, and ensuring the integrity of diagnostic studies while contributing to the growth and operational success of the neurodiagnostic program. Key Responsibilities Perform advanced neurodiagnostic testing, including: Electroencephalography (EEG
  • in-lab and ambulatory) Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) Evoked Potentials (EP)
Optional:
Polysomnography (PSG) and intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) Prepare patients thoroughly and ensure a safe, compliant testing environment Analyze recordings in real time to ensure data accuracy and clinical usability Apply the International 10-20 electrode placement system with precision Identify normal, abnormal, and artifact patterns during studies Adapt testing procedures based on patient condition and clinical indications Document findings and produce detailed technical reports Communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff regarding critical findings Support quality assurance, operational efficiency, and departmental goals Assist in mentoring junior staff and supporting training initiatives
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) program (or equivalent) Minimum 2 years of EEG technician experience At least 1 year of supervised patient care experience in neurodiagnostics Current CPR/BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher Board eligibility (ABRET, AAET, or ABEM) R.EEG.T or
R.CLTM.T
credential (or obtained within 3 years of hire) Experience with: Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) 10-20 and 10-10 electrode systems Collodion application techniques Cadwell or Natus systems Seizure monitoring and response Interest in expanding skills in neuromuscular diagnostics or IONM Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of neurophysiology, neuroanatomy, and diagnostic methodologies Knowledge of current neurodiagnostic standards and best practices Proficiency with digital recording systems and pattern recognition Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and infection control standards Leadership ability with a willingness to guide and mentor others What Success Looks Like In this role, you will contribute to: High-quality clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction Efficient and compliant laboratory operations Achievement of departmental performance and financial goals Growth and advancement of neurodiagnostic services
