Shift:
As needed on Saturdays 09:00am•01:00pm
Qualifications:
EKG Certification / Training Teaching experience preferred
Topics Covered:
Identify and describe the Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical Terminology of the major body systems with an emphasis on the Cardiovascular system Explain the Electrical Physiology of the Heart Discuss medications that are associated with the Cardiovascular system. Demonstrate the basic skills to accurately take a patient's vital signs Perform basic EKG Skills. Develop the ability to recognize Artifacts on an EKG and understand the errors and prevent them. Recognize arrhythmias. Students will learn to describe Pacemakers, name the chambers of the heart that the pacemaker may pace, explain the ways in which pacemakers can initiate impulses, and assess pacemaker function. Students will learn about the Holter Monitor, its monitoring, and Placement on patients.
