Job Description

You are applying for a position through Medix, a staffing agency. The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients. Job Summary Our client is seeking an experienced EKG Technician to streamline daily activities within the Nuclear Medicine suite. The primary responsibilities include maximizing patient throughput, ensuring compliance with HIPAA, and coordinating with the Nuclear Med Tech for radiotracer administration. The goal is to maintain safety while providing expert technical execution during patient stress tests. Key Responsibilities Streamline daily activities to maximize patient throughput without compromising safety. Ensure compliance with HIPAA by accurately verifying patient identities and medical records. Audit Electronic Medical Records to ensure accuracy in physician orders and diagnostic codes. Evaluate patient profiles for eligibility for pharmacological stress agents versus physical exertion. Operate treadmill systems and ECG monitors with precision while adhering to protocols. Supervise patients during post-test recovery phase while monitoring vital signs. Coordinate with Nuclear Med Tech for administering radiotracers. Assist patients with limited mobility during their transitions within the suite. Perform additional clinical or administrative duties as required. Qualifications High School Diploma required. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification mandatory. Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology is highly preferred. Experience in a medical office setting preferred. Skills Ability to operate and monitor treadmill systems and ECGs with precision. Excellent team collaboration and communication skills. Proficiency in auditing and managing Electronic Medical Records. Experience Two years of clinical experience preferred. Background in exercise physiology is valued. Additional Requirements Must be able to stand for extended periods and assist in moving equipment or patients (up to 50lbs). Requires a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel between office branches. Exposure to a radiation-controlled environment and potential contact with bloodborne pathogens.
