Location:
Nazareth Hospital Position Purpose The purpose of the Cardiology Technician is the safe and efficient performance of noninvasive cardiac testing.
The studies performed are:
12 lead electrocardiograms, HOLTER monitor applications, and stress testing. As an EKG Tech, you will Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), Holter monitoring, and event monitoring according to physician orders Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning electrodes correctly Accurately place and maintain electrodes to ensure high‑quality tracings Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormal findings to clinical staff promptly Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot EKG equipment to ensure proper functioning Document test results and patient information accurately in the electronic health record Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout testing Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times Coordinate with nurses, physicians, and other care team members regarding test scheduling and results Assist with transporting patients to and from testing areas, as needed​ Minimum Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required. BLS certification required. Formal training in electro cardiology techniques/terminology preferred. EKG experience preferred.
