Company parties Flexible schedule Free uniforms Electroencephalographic Technician (EEG Tech) is responsible for the set-up and operation of EEG instruments. The technologist works collaboratively with other health care team members, physicians, and the patient/family to achieve optimal outcomes. Has access to confidential patient information and makes decisions independently and with others. Communicates with Neurology in time sensitive situations.Job Essential Functions:
Performs EEG procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures. Abstracts relevant information from the patient's clinical records and obtains additional information as needed by questioning the patient. Describes all abnormal clinical manifestations observed during the test. Maintains EEG paperwork, including compiling history of patient, report generation, sending results and filing report when they are completed. Checks the EEG instrument prior to use to ensure proper calibration. Calibrates and adjusts the EEG equipment, as necessary. Obtains standard recordings, recognizes artifacts, and takes appropriate steps to eliminate them. Monitors other physiological variable, such as electrocardiograms, electrooculograms, and respiration, as needed. Keeps equipment in a clean operating condition, detects instrument malfunctions, and reports need for repairs. Setup, trouble and disconnect continuous EEG patients in the ICU setting.Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED equivalent Strong customer service orientation Comfortable working independently Basic computer proficiency At least one year of EEG experience Preferably registered inEEG Physical and Mental Demands:
Physical requirements May require bending, lifting, positioning, and/or assisting patient Long periods of standing Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making High level verbal and written communication skills Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyOccupational Exposure:
Low risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards May be introduced to patients with COVID-19, with proper PPE providedCompensation and Benefits:
